Rapid isolation and identification of Enterovirus infections is essential for proper patient management. Diagnostic HYBRIDS has used its MixedCells^TMtechnology to combine an engineered BGMK cell line containing hDAF (human Decay Acceleration Factor, a cellular receptor for multiple Enteroviruses) with A549 cells to allow a broad range of Enterovirus isolates to grow in a reduced time frame compared to traditional tube culture isolation. Positive results are generally evident in one to three days after inoculation.
